ok -
this stupid da vinci thing is messin with our myth ideas. i want to avoid any goddess references, for sure.
that being said, i am looking into myths that are nature-based. people in nature. streams and fish and water and maybe some nighttime stuff - i have ideas but not the skill to do it. damn, i need a video camera or something.
i've always been a star guy.
ok - in writing this down, i've narrowed things down to rivers, stars, and rain. i would love to have images with lots and lots of people in them, and then blow the images up really big and mount them in lightboxes.
.we could do some pretty awesome storytelling with this stuff too, eh? mr videoman - i need your input

i am not familliar with your idea of nature-based myth...exactly what are you referring to?? or are you talking about 'creating' your own myth that are nature based?? are we basing these myth puring out of imagination?? or are we writing parody of existing myths but twisting them for our own use??
i am guessing we will need to draw up some sort of narrative prior to shooting (or photographying) these images, right? where do you see this happening?? rivers...umm.... you have a location in mind??
( i am not sure if i have the proper equiptment for night shooting...)

i like the idea of making up new myths - sorry for getting ahead of you without updates - my mind is running away, and just assuming that you can, telepathically, figure out what im thinking and talking about.
yes, i am assuming that you are the video expert, since YOU HAVE NO WEBSITE ALLOWING OTHERS TO SEE WHAT YOU'VE BEEN UP TO. you work with video, which makes you more technically profecient than i. if we do need more technical abilities, maayke runs a video art group, and we could get her/them to help us out im sure.
i believe that we DO need to figure out some sort of narrative, or storyboard, or visual demos, of our ideas. i, for one, have about half a dozen ideas that im playing with - all photo-based, but that may change if we organize a meeting - that are NEW myths... ..an alternative creation myth, where rain comes from, how lakes were originally formed..
i want to come up with something for fire, and i have an idea for the constellations being thrown into the heavens by big burly figures (which is actually the story behind how the big dipper was formed, and why its tail is so long).
i mentioned before that i have been talking with another dude here in ottawa about the myth idea - i think that he's on board to help develop some ideas, and he's skilled as hell with a camera, which is a talent that i need to figure out how much of my ideas can be translated into actual product. hope you don't mind me recruiting.
i'll be posting soon with some SPECIFIC ideas, rather than this mind-blabber..

totally cool with the recruiting....since that i am a notorious slow worker/thinker...it's good to have more people to bounce ideas around with..
like your idea in general....somehow i am thinking animation after reading your blub for the first time... maybe i will re-read it again so i get more out of it..
