myths and rellics and nature-goddess-idols

i was listening to CBC radio this afternoon while in the car, and there was a woman on it talking about myths in books and how she researched that sort of thing. she said that many books could easily be understood in relation to the stories and myths and beliefs. She also said that some books - she specifically said that the origin of most of the myths that are evident in "King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table" are untraceable - where they come from is as much a mystery as anything else in those novels..
Which sort of re-peaked my interest in invent new myths. I'm gonna medidate on this for a while. I am also gonna mention our investigation to some budding art-types (are you encountering as many people who are closet artists, sometimes quite talented or well-versed, as i am?) if it is alright with you - "the more people to steal ideas from, the merrier", i believe Carl said. well, he didn't say it, just implied it. And i think it is a positive thing; not really stealing, just feeding off an energy - like going to NYC and living in the art community - it isn't steaing, just feeding off the vibe.

haha...funny...

hey..sorry for the silence for this while... i am sort of in a jam for job hunting tasks these days...plus i am going away for a week next weekend so lots loose ends to tie up.

i read all your stuff and been thinking about it...the group of people painting on the road thing seem interesting but i gotta be honest that i do not quite understand the value of it.....despite the fact that the format is cool and all.

i am more intrigued by your new 'myth' ideas..... for a while, i 've been conteplating on that as wel....seeing that myth, legend, folklore...they are so some sort of story telling idea ( which is my main interest) ..and we can do this in many ways (painting, drawing, artist books, even video.....) i am gonna sort thru my thought on this and will respond in a more 'intellectural' way later.... but i like this idea!

no VALUE? jeeezuus, my friend - you have been totally indoctrinated! must there be a reason for everything? bah! Art snob! leave the figuring it out to the puck-bunnies/art groupies; the art history kids'll figure that all out..

..i'll leave you out of that, then - i have an idea for paterson ewen's "homage to hokusai" - i want to do a big stencil print on the side of a building somewhere in ottawa - my own "wave".

as for the myth idea, let's pursue - i've started dreaming about it. my ideas have all been still photography-based, likely because im not much of a video guy. they're usually either successvie images or multiple images displayed together, which i guess could be translated into video. i'll try to splice something together using appropriated photos from the internet to give you an idea or two..

ok, buddy? let's run with this one!
